Work in Ethiopia

#section–text-block_e0cb815484b7b7bdb3df73a8eee5cc3a

We kindly ask for your understanding that we are unable to offer positions in Ethiopia. We strive to provide employment opportunities to as many Ethiopians as possible. Europeans are only employed in exceptional cases in specialized fields where suitably trained Ethiopians could not be found.

Language barriers present a further hurdle: in addition to many dialects and the main language Amharinya, we also find the languages Orominya, Tigrinya and Afar in rural Ethiopia. Only a few Europeans are familiar with these languages and English is hardly spoken outside the capital Addis Ababa.

The working group “Learning and helping abroad” will enable you to contact a wide range of organizations which undertake such missions: www.entwicklungsdienst.de.

The Menschen für Menschen Foundation - Karlheinz Böhms Ethiopia Aid is a public foundation under civil law. It is registered with the Munich tax office under the tax number 143/235/72144 and was last exempted from corporation and trade tax by decision of 21st September 2021 for the promotion of tax-privileged purposes and thus recognised as a non-profit organisation.
