Karlheinz Böhm Prize 2018

Menschen für Menschen awards the “Opera Village Africa” with the Karlheinz Böhm Prize 2018. The sculpture in the form of an umbrella acacia was accepted by Aino Laberenz, the widow of the late theatre director Christoph Schlingensief, who as an initiator and visionary had the idea for the opera village in Burkina Faso.
Every two years, the Karlheinz Böhm Prize is awarded to an individual or project that has distinguished itself through exemplary and outstanding commitment in the social sector in Africa.
